XR will change our lives for the better

My first VR headset was the Oculus Rift DK2. Inmediately was fascinated by the technology and began learning 3D modelling and Unreal Engine. My very first VR creation was a nightclub that I used to frequent in the 80s. When I entered it in VR, it completely transported me there, like a time machine. Many feelings I had completely forgotten about began to surface, it was a powerful experience. I dreamed of someday being there with friends and recreate one of the unforgettable nights we spent there.
Over time, Quest 2 was released, and with it, the possibility of fulfilling this long time ambition of travelling back in time. Social VR has radically transformed my life and have met countless amazing people thanks to it. Nightclubs are the epitome of social interaction, so it made sense to recreate long gone nightclubs that were considered to be legendary, so we could experience them together. Thousands of people from all over the world have already enjoyed these environments.
It takes a lot of work to recreate these environments. You have to do a lot of research and sometimes you get to meet the original architects or even owners. After some time, you begin to get a sense of the vibe of the space, which you then translate to a 3D animated world. When you are there with people from all over the world, dancing, making new friends and having a good time, from the comfort and safety of your living room, it makes it all worth it. At the end of the night, you feel like you enjoyed a night out and also met interesting people along the way. Social VR is going to change our lives for the better. And I am committed to creating fun, non violent experiences for this new computing platform.
For the past five years, I have been creating VR experiences for a lot of different applications. Archviz visualization of new real estate projects before they are constructed, VR training apps for disruptive technologies in collaboration with some of the most important research bodies in Spain, tourism VR applications that incorporate IoT monitorization in real time for a given region, casual VR multiplayer games, realistic 3D environments for AltspaceVR, where I ran weekly events for four years, which has allowed me to learn how to create 3D environments for VR that maximize the sense of presence by correctly scaling the environment, digital twins of small towns...
